“My daughter will be three in a few months and wants me to play with her constantly. I thought that she would begin to spend more time independently as she got a little older, but she just seems lost and uninterested without my direction and constant interaction. I love to play with her, but would also love to see her spend some time playing on her own so that I can have some time to myself as well. Anyone else have a very dependent toddler? Are my expectations too much for this age? How did you lovingly foster independence so that you could get some time to yourself?”
