La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine.

La Leche League of Valdosta, Georgia

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

Meeting Information

A continuing series of informal discussion meetings are offered and are open to all women interested in breastfeeding. The series consists of four meetings that are repeated over the course of the year; we suggest coming to the whole series before your baby is born. Mothers with babies will find the mother-to-mother information and support very helpful. Discussions cover topics concerned with:

  • Advantages of Breastfeeding to Mother and Baby
  • Baby Arrives: The Family and the Breastfed Baby
  • The Art of Breastfeeding and Avoiding Difficulties
  • Nutrition and Weaning

LLL of Valdosta meets at a private home in Valdosta. Contact the Leader for details and directions.

Leader Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
