All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding
are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding
help or information.
Meetings are held monthly and the information is divided into topics for a four-meeting
series. As no two meetings are ever alike, many mothers continue to attend for many months
beyond the first series. Meetings are led by women who have happily and successfully breastfed
their own children and have subsequently been accredited by La Leche League International (LLLI).
LLL of Tehachapi's meetings are held on the fourth Monday of the month at 10:00 a.m. Please call
a Leader for meeting locations and directions, as meeting locations may change.
The series of meetings follows the course of breastfeeding:
#1 Advantages of Breastfeeding
#2 The Baby Arrives - The Family and the Breastfed Baby
#3 The Art of Breastfeeding and Overcoming Difficulties
#4 Nutrition and Weaning
Mothers who attend LLL meetings soon find there is more involved than basic breastfeeding information.
They enjoy the sharing of stories, friendship, and the mother-to-mother support. Babies and siblings are
always welcome at LLL meetings!
La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained
and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding.
They are available by phone or email whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
If you have any questions or problems, please don't hesitate to contact a Leader! If a Leader cannot be reached
immediately, we encourage you to leave a message, and a Leader will usually return your call within 24-48 hours,
around their families' schedule.
