La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine.

La Leche League of South King County and Pierce County, Washington

La Leche League Breastfeeding Helpline : Call 877-4-LALECHE, (877-452-5324), 24 hours a day.

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.

Meeting Times, Locations, and Leaders

North Tacoma: First Friday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at Wheelock Library, Proctor District, Tacoma.

Lakewood: Second Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at Lakewood City Hall, in the Lakewood Towne Center.

Puyallup: Third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital, Baker Olympic Room, Family Birth Center in Puyallup.

Federal Way: Fourth Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 2400 SW 344th Street, in Federal Way.

The La Leche League International mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and the mother.
