All breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women interested in breastfeeding are welcome
to come to our meetings or to call our Leaders for breastfeeding help. Fathers are welcome
at all Couples' meetings, but are not required to attend. Grandparents, mothers without
partners, and lesbian couples are also most welcome. We also provide health care
professionals with continuing education opportunities and access to the latest research on
lactation management.
Breastfeeding is a simple and natural process. You are not alone, however, if you need
information on the correct positioning of the baby at the breast, tips for becoming a happy
breastfeeding family, or strategies for combining working and breastfeeding. You are not alone
if you need some extra support and compassion for the multi-tasked journey that is motherhood.
Mother-to-mother support is the very heart of La Leche League.
If you attend during the last trimester of your pregnancy, you will likely avoid some of the
more common pitfalls of the early, newborn days. If you come to your first meeting with your newborn
in-arms, you will receive answers to all your questions, help with positioning your baby at the
breast, and lots of encouragement. If you come with your nursing toddler in tow, you can relax and
get your concerns addressed while your little one plays safely at your feet.
Attending La Leche League meetings can give you the network of support you need to become the
mother you want to be.
La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who are accredited by La Leche League International
to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. Our many volunteer Leaders in the
San Fernando Valley run one or more meetings per month, so that breastfeeding mothers may attend as
many as one to two meetings per week. We encourage you to attend any or all monthly meetings local to
home or to work.
If you have breastfeeding questions that cannot wait until the next meeting, Leaders are ready to
offer encouragement, support, information, and practical help via telephone. Keep in mind that we are
volunteers with families of our own, and please call within normal business hours. In truly emergent
situations, we are available at any time.
East Valley Toddler Group
The East Valley Toddler Group meets on the second Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at
Studio City Park/Rec Center. From the 101 freeway, exit at Laurel and go south. Turn right
on Moorpark, right on Beeman, left on Rye. We meet in the northeast corner of the park. In
case of bad weather, please call Anne or Allison. Pregnant moms and moms with babies are
always welcome at this meeting! Toddler meetings address the same basic topics as all other
meetings, but the emphasis is on breastfeeding the older baby. Please bring a healthy snack to
share.

The West Valley Toddler Group meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. at Tarzana Park.
From the 101 freeway, exit at Tampa and go north. Make the first right on Hatteras, then right on Vanalden.
We meet in the fenced play area under the tree. Due to holidays or inclement weather, sometimes the dates
of our meetings will change. Contact one of the Leaders for an alternate location, date or time. Toddler
meetings address the same basic topics as all other meetings, but the emphasis is on breastfeeding the
older baby. Mothers and new babies are always welcome. Please bring a healthy snack to share.

San Fernando Valley PM/Couples Group
Unlike the daytime meetings in the San Fernando Valley, which are limited to women and children,
the Couples Meeting gives you and your partner the benefit of networking with other involved,
breastfeeding families. At these monthly meetings in which dads are always welcomed but not required
to attend, parents share not only their questions and concerns, but also the benefits and joys of
breastfeeding. Nursing babies and toddlers are welcome, too!
The San Fernando Valley PM/Couples Group meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
at the Mothers Wellness Connection, 18340 Ventura Blvd., Suite 222, Tarzana. From the 101 exit Reseda
and go south. Turn left on Ventura. The building is on the corner of Ventura and Avenida Oriente.
Parking in the back. The office is on the second floor and unfortunately the building has no elevator;
if accessibility is an issue, contact the Leader.
Leader:
