La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
Breastfeeding is a simple and natural process, but you may need support and information on the correct positioning of the baby at the breast, overcoming difficulties, and nursing babies beyond 3 months. Knowing other women who have breastfed their babies can be helpful and reassuring. Having accurate, up-to-date information is also important.
Attending La Leche League meetings can help you learn about breastfeeding from other nursing mothers. At these monthly meetings, mothers share not only their questions and concerns but also the benefits and joys of breastfeeding. Being in touch with La Leche League can give you a network of support you need. If after attending a few meetings you would like to become a member, it is just $40 per year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. With your membership, you will receive a bimonthly journal, NEW BEGINNINGS, filled with warm personal stories from breastfeeding parents along with up-to-date research, book reviews, and much more. All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

Meeting Information
The Stroudsburg Group meets on the third Friday of every month (except December) at 11 a.m. Meetings are held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Fish Hill Rd. in Tannersville (1/4 mile off Rte. 611).
We also hold an evening meeting at the same location on the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m.
Leader Information
La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
