La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization.

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies and children are always welcome at our meetings.
Meeting Information
La Leche League of Iowa City provides mother-to-mother support through our informal monthly meetings. Using La Leche League Philosophy and The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding as resources, Leaders facilitate and promote discussion of breastfeeding information. Meetings are tailored to the unique needs of the mothers in attendance at each meeting. Leaders are also available after meetings to meet with mothers who need individualized assistance.
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow yourself time to get settled.
All meetings are held at St Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1300 Melrose, in Iowa City. Church phone is 338-7523.

*Please note: If the Iowa City Community School District cancels school or dismisses early on a La Leche League meeting date due to weather conditions, the La Leche League Meeting will also be cancelled for that day.
Leader Information
La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns. Leaders may or may not check their email regularly; if you have an immediate concern about breastfeeding, please call.
