LLL of Indiana

La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine.

La Leche League International (LLLI) was founded in 1956 by seven women who wanted to make breastfeeding easier and more rewarding for both mother and child. Today, LLLI is an international organization active in in 66 nations worldwide, reaching more than 200,000 people monthly through a network of nearly 8,000 accredited Leaders who work on a volunteer basis.

LLLI is recognized by the World Health Organization as the world's foremost authority on breastfeeding. LLLI provides health care professionals with continuing education opportunities and access to the latest research on lactation management through its Center for Breastfeeding Information and publications such as BREASTFEEDING ABSTRACTS.

LLLI's book, THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING, is a classic work combining the latest information and research on breastfeeding with the personal wisdom and experience of breastfeeding mothers. LLLI also publishes a variety of other books on breastfeeding and parenting, available in bookstores and through the LLLI catalog. LLL also offers state, regional, and international breastfeeding and parenting conferences attended by both families and health care professionals.

La Leche League of Fort Wayne, Indiana

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
