LLL of Minnesota and the Dakotas

La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Membership in La Leche League USA can be obtained from your local La Leche League Group. Membership fees help to support your local Group, LLL USA, and LLL International. The benefits of membership vary from Group to Group. Ask your LLL Leader how to receive a free electronic copy of New Beginnings.

La Leche League of Elk River, Minnesota

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be are welcome to come to our meetings, or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies and children are always welcome at our meetings.

Meeting Information

La Leche of Elk River meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. Meetings are held at Lord of Glory Lutheran Church located at 15550 190th Avenue NW in Elk River.

Our meetings rotate through the following topics:

  • The Advantages of Breastfeeding
  • Baby Arrives: The Family and the Breastfed Baby
  • The Art of Breastfeeding and Avoiding Difficulties
  • Nutrition and Weaning

Enrichment meetings on topics such as babywearing, employment and breastfeeding, birth stories, and mothercare are held on the third Wednesday of the month, 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Please call a Leader for more information.

Leader Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone or email whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
