La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine. You do not have be a member of La Leche League to attend our meetings.

La Leche League Meetings:
Whether you are pregnant, a new mother, or an experienced mother looking for parenting support, we invite you to share with us your thoughts and questions on all aspects of breastfeeding. Informal discussions are held in a warm atmosphere. We have a lending library of books about breastfeeding, childbirth, and parenting. Meetings are free and children are welcome. Please call or send email for information about meetings in surrounding counties.

Telephone Help:
Volunteer Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. If you have a question, a problem, or just need some mother-to-mother suppport, please call the helpline number or any of the women listed to the right.

Morning Group in Havertown

Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. at Old Haverford Friend's Meeting, Eagle Road and St. Denis Lane. For more information contact:

Meetings for mothers nursing beyond a year are held on the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at Old Haverford Friend's Meeting, Eagle Road and St. Denis Lane. For more information contact:

Morning Group in Media

Meetings are normally held on the fourth Wednesday of the month (third Wednesday in November and December) at 10 a.m. at the Media Presbyterian Church at 30 E. Baltimore Ave. (Park behind the church and come in the back entrance.) Accessible by Bus #110 or Trolley #101. For information contact:

Meetings for mothers nursing beyond a year are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Swarthmore United Methodist Church on Park Ave (next to the library). For information contact:
