La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine.

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

Meeting Information

The Columbia Group meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 10:00 A.M. in room #8 of the Pinckney Annex of Ft. Jackson.

Directions: You will need your driver's license, car registration, and proof of insurance to get on post. Come in through the main gate on Forest Drive (#2) and continue on Strom Thurmond Blvd to Marion Ave. Turn right on Marion and continue past the hospital to the light (Hill St.) Turn left on Hill and continue one block to Scales Ave. Turn left on Scales and take your first right, on Hood Street (unmarked). Go halfway down the block to the elementary school on the right - the sign reads Pinckney Annex. Turn right into the driveway in front of the school and follow it around to the parking lot on the left-hand side of the school. Park and walk down the hill to the back building - the door is on the left-hand side. We are in in Room #8.

Leader Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
