La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine and a discount on items purchased from LLLI.

La Leche League of Clay/Platte, Missouri

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

Meeting Information

We offer a choice of meeting times and formats each month:

  • Clay/Platte AM (Mom Cafe): 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month, 10:30 to noon, at the New Song church, 8600 Northeast Sam Ray Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64156. The GoogleMaps directions to this location are accurate. This meeting features a "drop in" format. Please come and go as suits your schedule.

  • Evening Group: 2nd Tuesday of every month, 7:00 to 8:30 PM, at the Church of the Redeemer. A map can be found at this link: www.redeemerkc.org/directions.

Please note the following meeting changes for November and December: The Mom Cafe group will NOT meet the 4th Wednesday of November due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Also, both groups will only meet one time in December, on Wednesday, December 9th from 10:30 to Noon at New Song Church. This gathering will be a cookie exchange. All are invited. Please feel welcome, even if you do not bring cookies to swap.

Leader Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
