La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine.

Ongoing Group Fundraisers: LLL of Cedar Rapids sells copies of THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING, which makes a great baby shower gift! We also sell handknit wool cloth diaper covers and longies. Call the Leader listed to the right for further information.

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

Meeting Information

La Leche League of Cedar Rapids presents its series of monthly meetings based on THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING.

Evening meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m and meet at BabyMatters, 1520 1st Ave NW, in Cedar Rapids. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow yourself time to get settled.

Morning meetings are held on the third Friday of the month* at 10:00 am and meet at the Marion Public Library, Meeting Room B, 1095 6th Ave in Marion. These are more casual meetings with no predetermined topic. Toddlers and Preschoolers are welcome to attend with their nursing siblings. *April and May meetings will be on the 4th Friday.

Leader Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns. Leaders may or may not check their email regularly; if you have an immediate concern about breastfeeding, please call.
