LLL of California

La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. Information presented has been approved by LLLI's Advisory Board of Physicians and Professionals

Who Comes to LLL Meetings?
Pregnant women can learn how to minimize or prevent common breastfeeding concerns and are encouraged to attend a complete series of meetings before their baby's birth. Breastfeeding mothers having questions or concerns, as well as those already doing beautifully, are welcome to share their experiences. No two series are exactly alike, since we are all growing in our understanding of child development, mothering and family life. As we share our knowledge of mothering through breastfeeding, we can all learn and support each other during this important time in our lives and the lives of our families. Please bring your nursing baby - you'll both be happier! Your toddlers are also welcome. Involving the baby's father or significant support persons can add to your breastfeeding success, and they are encouraged to attend as well.

Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine.

La Leche League of Burbank/Glendale, California

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Meetings follow a schedule of topics which cover the practical, physical and psychological aspects of breastfeeding. These meetings are also an excellent place to learn more about mothering an infant or toddler. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

Meeting Topics rotate through:

  1. The Advantages of Breastfeeding
  2. Baby Arrives: The Family and the Breastfed Baby
  3. The Art of Breastfeeding and Overcoming Difficulties
  4. Nutrition, Starting Solids and Weaning
You may start the series with any meeting, come as often as you like, and ask any questions regardless of that evening's topic

Meeting Information

LLL of Burbank/Glendale meets the First Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM. Fathers are welcome to attend our meetings. We meet at Incarnation Church, 1001 N. Brand Blvd., in Glendale. The Church is one block north of Glenoaks, between Brand and Central. Meetings are held in the St. Michael's Hall, located in the rear basement of church, adjacent to the parking lot.

(Note: LLL is non-sectarian and is not affiliated with this church. Incarnation Parish has been very generous to provide us with a free space to meet for over 10 years)

Please contact a Leader for more information.
