LLL of Minnesota and the Dakotas

La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Membership in La Leche League USA can be obtained from your local La Leche League Group. Membership fees help to support your local Group, LLL USA, and LLL International. The benefits of membership vary from Group to Group. Ask your LLL Leader how to receive a free electronic copy of New Beginnings.

La Leche League of the Black Hills, South Dakota

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Our meetings are informal gatherings designed to support and encourage you in your breastfeeding and mothering experience and are a great place to meet other breastfeeding mothers. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

Meeting Information

Meetings are held on the 4th Monday of each month at 10:00 am on odd months and 7:00 pm on even months. The December meeting will be held on the 3rd Monday. Please call for location.

Our meetings rotate through the following topics:

  • The Advantages of Breastfeeding
  • Baby Arrives: The Family and the Breastfed Baby
  • The Art of Breastfeeding and Avoiding Difficulties
  • Nutrition and Weaning

Leader Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
