All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings
or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information.
Meetings are held monthly and the information is divided into topics for a four-meeting series. As no two
meetings are ever alike, many mothers continue to attend for many months beyond the first series. Meetings are
led by women who have happily and successfully breastfed their own children and have subsequently been accredited
by La Leche League International (LLLI).
Meeting Information
LLL of Bakersfield meets twice each month:
- The second Monday morning of each month at 10:00 a.m. - Normal Series Meeting
- The last Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. - Mama Cafe
The location of both events rotates depending on who is hosting. Please call or email a Leader for more
information.
The series of meetings follows the course of breastfeeding:
#1 Advantages of Breastfeeding
#2 The Baby Arrives - The Family and the Breastfed Baby
#3 The Art of Breastfeeding and Overcoming Difficulties
#4 Nutrition and Weaning
Mothers who attend LLL meetings soon find there is more involved than basic breastfeeding information. They
enjoy the sharing of stories, friendship, and the mother-to-mother support. Babies and siblings are always welcome
at LLL meetings!
Leader Information
La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained
