Q: The WBWC money is split up among many LLL entities. What are these entities and what is the money used for?
A: Explanation of percentages:
50% Group: To be used by Groups to further support their needs and to help increase LLL Mission in their community through continuing education for Leaders and for outreach events.
15% Area: To help Areas lower Leader and member costs associated with continuing education events, communications, publicity and outreach.
20% Division: To help with costs associated with developing materials for administrators, Leader outreach and support, increased Web site presence, educational events, scholarships to LLLI events, etc. In 2008, the EUS is donating half their proceeds to the Helpline and the USWD is donating $1,000.
5% LLLI: To pay the LLLI Royalty Fee.
5% WBWC Grants: To be held by the Divisions in the WBWC Grants bank account and dispersed as grants. Leaders, with ideas for projects that will further the mission of La Leche League, may fill out the Joint Projects Grant Application, due by March 31st. Grants will be announced by May 1st. 5% WBW expenses/start up: To pay the administrative costs of the event, including prizes and postage. Extra money is given to further the mission of LLL in the USA. In 2008 over $14,500 was donated to the Helpline and other US projects out of this percentage.
