General Conference Information Continuing Education credits are available for nurses and lactation consultants. CE credits and a syllabus are included in the registration fee for healthcare professionals. The syllabus includes handouts from all sessions, CE and non-CE. Parents and expectant parents are also welcome to attend CE sessions. For attendees not requiring CE credits, the syllabus may be preordered on the registration form for $15. Due to the technical material presented during CE sessions, attendance of children will be limited to young, quiet babies in arms. Session Lengths on Saturday will vary. CE sessions will be one hour and fifteen minutes in length. Non-CE sessions will be one hour. Noise in Sessions In order to provide a quiet atmosphere for the speaker and attendees, please be aware of the happy baby sounds, crying, and toddler noises that can be distracting to others. When this occurs, please leave the session and tend to your baby or child. At this conference, as well as any other time, the most important thing you can do is tend to the needs of your child. Therefore, expect that you will probably miss some parts of a session or maybe even an entire session. However, not all the fun and learning happens inside a conference session. Sometimes it happens in the hallways or in the Playroom talking with other mothers also tending to the needs of their child. When your child has settled, you’re welcome to return. Speakers understand and will not be offended. Your fellow audience members will be very appreciative. Cell Phones should be turned off or set to vibrate during sessions. Please be respectful of the speakers and those interested in session content by answering your incoming call after you have left the session room. Strollers are not allowed in the Conference areas. Slings and baby carriers are the preferred mode of transportation for babies. Provisions will be made for those with special needs. Diaper Changing Stations will be located in the hotel restrooms to offer privacy to our youngest guests. Please do not flush diapers down any toilets. Conference Volunteers are needed to make our conference a success. Please consider offering a helping hand on one of the committees or at the conference registration table to see where you might be needed. What to Bring: Diapers, quiet toys, a sling or baby carrier, a blanket for naps or floor play, a sweater, snacks, donation for the Silent Auction/Group Basket, personal or Group checkbook, and extra spending money.
