Transformative Large Group Conversations

Conversations that Matter...

What might happen if we brought 30 La Leche League Leaders* of diverse backgrounds and experiences together for four days and gave them new tools to discover and talk about what really matters to them?

This question motivated members of the TLGC planning team as we began to create what would become a unique, intense, and truly transformative event.

Guidance and wisdom from consultants Christine Whitney Sanchez and Claudia Haack helped us design a workshop that would bring out the passion and commitment of each participant using three complementary techniques: Appreciative Inquiry, World Café and Open Space Technology. Using the broader theme of "Supporting Internal Health to Enhance External Growth in La Leche League," we made our plans, and waited with excitement, not knowing exactly what would happen.

On May 17, 2005, over 30 La Leche League Leaders from all over the United States and Canada began to arrive. As is traditional at LLL events, many Leaders brought babies or toddlers along, and their charming presence added immensely to the experience.
