Membership in La Leche League can be obtained from your local La Leche League Group. Membership fees help to support your local Group, LLL of New York, and LLL International.

La Leche League of Erie County, New York

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

Healthcare professionals are welcome to attend meetings, please call the Leader in advance.

Meeting Information

A continuing series of informal day and evening discussion meetings are offered and are open to all pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. You do not need to be a member of La Leche League to attend. Children of all ages are welcome.

Meeting Series:
1. Breastfeeding: The Healthy Choice Nursing benefits for baby, mother, father, families and the world.
2. Baby Arrives Preparing for birth, establishing nursing in the early weeks, & including dad, sibling/s, & grandparents.
3. Art of Breastfeeding & Avoiding Difficulties The normal course of breastfeeding, recognizing challenges, caring for yourself, getting support
4. Nutrition & Weaning Starting solids, family nutrition, extended nursing, approaches to weaning, loving guidance.

Leader Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns. La Leche League Leaders are available for phone calls or emails regarding meeting information and whenever you have breastfeeding questions that cannot wait until the next meeting.

Amherst meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30PM at:

Buffalo LLL Group holds two monthly meetings. Morning meeting held the 3rd Monday of every month at 10:30am. Evening "Working Mothers" meeting held the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7pm. Meetings held at: Midwifery Services, 289 Summer Street (between Richmond and Elmwood Ave) in Buffalo. Public street parking is available on Summer Street and Ashland Avenue. Meetings usually last 1 hour.
