La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine and a discount on items purchased from LLLI.

All breastfeeding mothers, mothers-to-be, grandmas, aunts and other women interested in breastfeeding information, and supporting women that breastfeed, are welcome! Meetings for couples are also offered several times throughout the year.

Morning Meeting: Crystal Lake
February - WEDNESDAY February 3rd at 9.30am at Panera Bread in Crystal Lake on Rt. 14. The restaurant has a meeting room to the far left of the order counter. Topic: The Family and the Breastfed Baby
March – WEDNESDAY March 3nd at 10am. This meeting will be an OLDER BABIES and TODDLERS meeting. Mothers with babies and children age 6+ months are invited to this meeting. Topic: Meeting 3: The Joys and Challenges of Nursing a Toddler - Nursing patterns--what's "normal"; how needs and wants change; setting limits on nursing or continuing nursing on demand; special situations--restaurants, traveling; using a code word for nursing; appropriate activities for toddlers; separation anxiety; potty training; loving guidance and how to shape behavior; temper tantrums.

May through December - 1st TUESDAY’s of each month at 10am. We meet again and are back to our usual morning meeting location at the Algonquin Township Hall on Rt. 14 which shares the parking lot with the Recycling Center.

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
