La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine and a discount on items purchased from LLLI.
La Leche League of Aurora-Southeast PM, Colorado
All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies and toddlers are always welcome at our meetings.
Meeting Information
The Aurora-Southeast PM group meets on the 3rd Monday of the month, at 6:45 PM. Meetings are held at Holy Love Lutheran Church, 4210 S. Chambers Road, Aurora, CO 80014. We are not affiliated with the church except for their donation of the space for our meetings.Directions: From the intersection of Quincy and Chambers take Quincy East about 1/2 a block to Chambers Way. Turn left (north) on Chambers Way and follow Chambers Way around. The church will be on your right. Park in the main parking lot and enter the church from the main entrance. Go past the church offices and sanctuary into a small hallway. We will be meeting on your right in the youth room.
Accommodations: The meeting room includes an extensive toy collection with toys safe for infants and toddlers. Snacks and refreshments are provided at each meeting.
All questions are welcomed at each meeting, regardless of the topic presented. We always save time at the meeting to address any concerns. Our member library boosts over 50 titles on all kinds of parenting issues. We also carry information sheets on specific situations for free or a small fee. We join the other metro area La Leche League Groups in sponsoring Enrichment meetings, covering diverse topics of interest to breastfeeding families. Contact a Leader for more information on these special meetings. Fathers are welcome to attend the Enrichment meetings. We do limit the regular series meetings to women only. Children, as at any La Leche League function, are always welcomed. We provide toddler-friendly snacks at each meeting, and a small collection of safe toys. We highly encourage pregnant mothers to attend four meetings before their baby is born. A lot of information is covered in the series meetings. Series meetings are not classes, but discussions. We value the input of all the attendees, as we have a lot to learn from each other. Please phone a Leader to confirm meeting dates and locations.
Leader Information
La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding.
