La Leche League of Norman, Oklahoma

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our meetings or call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Babies are always welcome at our meetings.

Meeting Information

LLL of Norman has one meeting per month, the second Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m..

We will be meeting in the enclosed Art Room, and our meetings will be separate of any classes going on outside of our enclosed room.

If mothers would like to bring older children and the older children want to play on the equipment, Gymboree's rules are as follows:

Children that want to partake in the fun and games outside of the meeting will need another parent or supervising adult to come along with them and there is a per family charge of $5.00.

Mothers, if you decide to bring your older ones and the older children will not be playing on the equipment they will need to stay within the enclosed LLL meeting area. Please help keep LLL of Norman Group welcoming and helpful by making sure children stay within a hug's reach and have a quite activity to do during the meeting.

Sick Child Policy: Mothers, if your child is or has been ill, please carefully consider their comfort, level of contagiousness, and the safety and feelings of other mothers and children before bringing them to a Series Meeting. We want our meetings to provide a safe environment for infants, toddlers and mothers. Children are welcome, but please keep them within a hug's reach. Thank you for using your best instincts and thinking of others.

Meeting Cancellation Policy: If the roads are icy and/or hazardous we will cancel the meeting and reschedule. Please keep on eye on the Yahoo Group for a cancellation notice during times of inclement weather.

Leader Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.

Breastfeeding Advocacy Bracelets/ Silicone Bands

We now have a limited number of blue silicone bands that say "Celebrate Breastfeeding." They are $3.50 each, and just $1.00 shipping, no matter how many you buy. You can also buy them at a Norman LLL Meeting or some other OKC area meetings. You can use Paypal or you can mail Maren a check. Please email LLLMaren@ohww.norman.ok.us for more information. LLL Memberships

You do not have to be a member of LLL to attend meetings. However, membership supports LLL locally, statewide, and nationally. Your dues of $40 also entitle you to full access to our great lending library, a subscription to the LLL magazine New Beginnings, as well as a 10% discount on LLL catalog items.

You can pay for your LLL membership by sending a check to Maren (email her for her mailing address), or by giving it to one of the Leaders at a LLL Meeting. And now you can even pay with a credit card by paying through Paypal.

Just click on the Paypal graphic above and follow the instructions. It will send your payment of $41.50 to LLL of Norman. $40 is your membership and $1.50 is the Paypal fee.

La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine and a discount on items purchased from LLLI. Membership is not required to call a Leader or to attend meetings.
